hosted by James Garfield and Frederik "Freddan" Adlers James Garfield is a composer, keyboardist & bassist located in Santa Cruz, CA. James wound up spending 10 years in the dot-com business following his time in the Oberlin Conservatory's electronic music program and has been the Super Site's webmaster since its inception in 1996. Frederik "Freddan" Adlers is a professional Rhodes technician and collector located in Mölnlycke, Sweden. Freddan is a former professional keyboardist, producer & store owner, has been in the business since 1972 and is the Super Site's lead historian. Super Site News The Super Site V3 (05/07/08): The next revision of the Super Site is underway, with the most radical change being an entirely new Timeline of Models that will replace the existing Models section. As many of us already know, there were changes made nearly every year to every aspect of the piano's design, and as a result the 1969 "Mark I" and the 1979 "Mark I" can hardly be called the same model. I'm sure the new timeline approach will be a never-ending project, but for now I am putting out the request for photos, descriptions and audio samples of pianos in excellent condition out there to be included as examples for each year. Major Key's Indefinite Hiatus (12/28/07): John R. McLaren, a long-time Rhodes parts supplier and supporter of the Super Site, has been hospitalized for several weeks and is putting the Major Key business "on hold" until his health improves. This means that no new orders will be taken, and to complicate matters, Julie Drake (his right-hand lady) had to leave the company in order to help her parents with their own health problems. But she says that she does know about a few outstanding orders that still haven't been completed: if you're one of those customers, contact the Super Site and we'll put you in touch with her directly. The Super Site Remembers Joe Zawinul (09/11/07): The godfather of electric piano as it is known in jazz took off from Vienna to explore another part of the universe today.
